Right Thinking

“As a man thinks within himself, so is he.” – Proverbs 23:7

To embrace tomorrow and to see the fulfillment of hopes and dreams requires right thinking.

How we think today determines our tomorrows, and ultimately will determine our destiny.  Romans 10:17 tells us that “faith comes by hearing the word of God.” (paraphrased).  This kind of hearing causes our minds to understand the words which God speaks about us, rather than ourselves forming a life of negative, despondent, self-talk.

Every future hope, thought, and dream is followed by a thought of doubt.  Such doubts unchecked, will repeated over and over again, why your dreams won’t work, and why you’re disqualified from future successes. Dreaming and thinking right is the begininng of fulfillilng of your destiny.

Andy Stanley, pastor of Northpoint Church, in Alpharetta, Georgia, writes, “I keep a little card on my desk that reads:

‘Dream no small dreams, for they stir not the hearts of men.’ “

Keep your dreams alive by adding faith and biblical thinking to your future.  Big dreams have the power to imact men.  Thinking and dreaming big stir creativity, and produce action.

The English pastor and poet, Frederick Langbridge (1849-1922) wrote,

“Two men looked out from prison bars, one saw mud, the other stars.”

Don’t allow pessimistic downcast thoughts to cause you to focus on the discouragements of life.  Look up. Christ will fill your heart and mind with faith instead of fear and anxiety.

Great days are ahead for those who embrace God’s Word, and right thinking!
