Three Components of a Meaningful Life (Part 1)

John 10:10

“The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but I have come that they might have life, and that more abundantly.”

It is an evident truth from scripture that Jesus came to give us a life of meaning and abundance.  In the Greek language,  life is defined in 2 ways:

1.  Bios: Which speaks of our physical existence and

2. Zoe:  which denotes a quality of life, a life of meaning, purpose, and fulfillment.  More than physical existence,  Christ came to give us “Zoe” life.

Three Components of a Meaningful Life:

1. Security

2. Self-Worth

3. Significance

In this post,  we will write about Security:

Security means that you can have freedom from fear, worry, and doubt concerning your present life and circumstances, and your continuing existence.  Freedom from fear in its greatest form is that which stems from the experience of faith, rooted and grounded in what Christ has done for us.

Jesus gave us the greatest sense of freedom from fear when he spoke in John 10.

28           and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand.

29           “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.  (NAS)

It was Jesus’ cry from the cross, “It is finished.” – John 19:30 that secures us, and sets us free from a worry-filled life.  We as believers have the privilege of  resting in the “Finished work of the Cross.”

The truth of scripture is that our security is rooted in the merits of Christ concerning our sins.  This security has been underscored by the apostle John in  1 John 5:13, where he writes “These things have I written unto you that you may K-N-O-W that you have eternal life …”

Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine ….
